Portage Horticultural Society trophy presentation
Trophy winners of the Portage and District Horticultural competitions are shown above following the presentation last night at a meeting in the Community Hall, Right to left they are: J. G. McKay with the Mil-Jeanne cup presented for the best Gladioli in the show; Geo. MacVicar with the Lister Memorial Cup for the aggregate cut flowers; J. H. Burtonshaw with the Cole-George Trophy presented for the aggregate in vegetables; James Craig with the Linden cup presented to the winner of the Children's garden competitions, junior section; Robert Barrett with the Walker cup presented to the winner of the children's garden competitions, senior section; and G. H. Mann, president of the Society holding the J. Lud Gabel Trophy won by Dr. G. M. Black, who was not present; for the first prize in home grounds competition.
