City’s new front end loader
New front end loader received by the City yesterday is pictured above as it is about to go into operation this morning. In the picture are from left to right: Fred Dell, operator; Harry Milton. truck driver; Alderman W. F. L. Hyde, chairman of the Board of Works; and D. E. Mac Vicar, superintendent of the Board of Works. The Minneapolis Moline with Lull loader is one of the newest and up-to-date machines. Purchased through W. G. Sherritt, it cost approximately $4,200, and will replace the old one that is worn out. The loader is used for the picking up of cinders and rubbish and dumping it on to a following truck. It will also be useful for loading snow in the winter, Ald. Hyde said.
