Dr. Lotta Hirshmanova [sic] presents flag of United Nations to library

The United Nations flag presented to the Portage Public Library yesterday afternoon from the United Nations Committee of the Local Council of Women, is shown above being held by Dr. Lotta Hitschmanova, executive director of the Unitarian Service Committee of Canada, left, who made the presentation. From left to right: Mrs Nellie Carter, librarian who accepted the flag: Mrs. James Franklin, president of the local Council of Women, Mayor H. L. Henderson, who dedicated the flag and Mrs. Francis Edwards, chairman of the United Nations Committee of the local Council of Women.
