Legion Auxiliary 34th birthday - Local unit wins award

District representative Mrs. P. A. Smith of Brandon, left, presents a plaque to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion branch in Portage at the group's 34th birthday party Tuesday night. The Auxiliary won the plaque for showing the largest membership increase in 1963-64. Accepting on behalf of the branch is president Mrs. Jean Gibson, centre, and first vice-president Mrs. Audrey Steeden. The presentation followed a birthday banquet and entertainment in the Legion auditorium.
