1973-74 TERRIER TEAM PIC CENTENNIAL CUP TERRIERS LOSE TO 73-’74 COUNTERPART IN EXHIBITION GAME Presidents face off Maurice Batters, president of the 1973-74 Terriers on left and Joe Sponarski, president last season, faced off to begin Wednesday night’s Terrier benefit game. Referee Earl Ormishaw drops the puck. Both Joe and Maurice were pleased with the capacity crowd of than 1,200 as proceeds will be used to defray court costs from last season.
Busy Goalie John Memryk was busy in the first period of last night’s game stopping 18 of 21 shots. Here he goes after a shot off the net with Gord Price with Murray White looking for the rebound and No. 14 Randy Tyler being pushed out of the way by No. 5 John Hewitt. George Miller No. 3 is moving in on the play along with Randy Penner. The Greens, this year’s Terriers, scored an 8-5 win over the Whites, the Centennial Cup champions. Memryk played the first period and the final six minutes of the third period.
1973-74 Terriers Portage Terriers this season lost in the seventh and final game of the North Division finals.
