Sugar Beet Harvesting In Full Swing
A record run of sugar beets has gone through the loaders in Portage this week. In one day alone, a new record of 882 tons was loaded here, 22 tons better than any previous single day since beets became a major crop locally. The biggest single beet brought in so far is a 19-pounder - a real whopper.
