Not snakes or reptiles, they're butter fruit, grown at Poplar Point this year by Mrs. Barbara Moffit. Seed for the marrow-like butter fruit came from the southern United States. Completely edible, they can be baked, fried, etc. Oh yes, the eyes - they were added by some artistic wit just for effect.
