A mobile display, "The Cultural Mosaic of Manitoba", is currently open to the public at the Fort la Reine museum complex on the eastern edge of Portage. The display is a production of the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature, and will be here July 25. This is a section of the display that deals with Ukrainian settlement in the province.
The Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature's mobile display now at the Fort la Reine Museum, is really a mini-museum. The display, which takes up only a very small space in the school house on the museum site, briefly outlines in print and with artifacts the four major waves of immigration into the province. The museum hopes in the future to have many more such mobile displays available to the public, in an effort to bolster its already outstanding display of local history.
