Nan Mulder - Delta Fowl Conservatory

Nan Mulder until recently a duck decoying specialist in his home town of Hipolitushoef, North Holland, is one of the fascinating features of the Delta Waterfowl Research Station north of here. The Dutchman here carries two pails of grain on a juk, an ancient device commonly used in the Low countries and other parts of Europe. The load of grain was used to bait the station banding trap prior to a demonstration of banding techniques for a Ducks Unlimited visiting party. This Juk brought recently from Holland, has been in the Mulder family for almost one hundred years.
