MB1870: Manitoba Historical Photographs

JUNIOR TERRIERS FIRST GAME FIRST PUCK DROP HAROLD PAINTER, president of the Portage Minor Hockey Association dropped the puck between Harry Foxton on the left and Portage Mayor W. A. Linden on the right to officially open the 1970-71 Junior hockey season in Portage la Prairie. Portage Terrier president Joe Sponarski, second from the right, looks on. Mr. Foxton is currently a member of the C.A.H.A. rules committee. He was connected with Terrier junior hockey teams in the 1930's and 40's and served several seasons on the executive of the M.A.H.A. He was secretary-registrar until four years ago.
