June 14th, 1965, Agriculture, Special Crops Sub-Station Disease Control Experiment Tomato Crossing Tests, First work in experiments to control “aster yellows” in cereal crops begun Monday at the Special Crops Sub-Station here, it means a lot for hand work as Paul Westdal can show as he hand-sprays one of the experimental plots in a hope-for control measure. TOMATO PLANTS BY THE HUNDRED - 1,600 to be exact, were going in Monday at the Special Crops Sub-Station at Portage la Prairie. All are being used in experiments at the station in an effort that may develop a new tomato for Manitoba conditions.
