Portage was first
The city of Portage la Prairie was the first community in Manitoba to become a customer of the then Manitoba Power Commission, now Manitoba Hydro. Wednesday Hydro marked this event as well as marking Substation No. 2 by unveiling this plaque. Above are Reeve Robert Adrain and Mayor Karen Devine with Jack Skinner of Hydro's historical interest committee.
