Bobby Beck, centre, a grade six student at Crescentview school, is the first place winner in the 1973 UNICEF essay contest. He receives a cash prize of $25 and an individual trophy to keep. The original trophy will be retained by his classroom for one year. Second and third place winners respectively are Gayle Kripky, grade six student at La Verendrye school, right, and Karen Barnabe, grade five student at Harold Edwards school, left. They receive $15 and $10 respectively.
