Winter Fun Festival - Torches for parade being prepared by city fire department
Special torches, designed for a maximum of safety, are being made up by Portage firemen for use in the Fun Festival parade March 1. The assembly line here includes Deputy Fire Chief Roy Watson and regular fireman Fred Lundy and Ferg Grassie. They hope to make upwards of 120 torches and right now need some broken hockey sticks and waste to complete the job.
