Crescentview School - International Day - Part of school spirit week
Three pretty Swiss maids
These three, from the left, Yvonne Bowden, Vivian Turko and Patricia Purves, were representing Switzerland during Thursday’s International Day as a part of school spirit week at Crescentview School. Each class picked a country to depict and was judged accordingly. Teachers joined in with students to add to the atmosphere.
Sitting on the floor
Chairs were missing from the 8C classroom at Crescentview Thursday. Students were sitting on the floor around tables with legs removed for lessons. Reason? They were taking the part of Oriental people who used to sit on floors with their legs crossed or on their knees. Chairs and tables are now used in Far East countries. The students were taking part in the school’s International Day.
Matador and the bull
Shelley Morisseau is the stylish matador coaxing the unwilling bull (Troy Gunn and Nancy Murray). They are part of the 8B class depicting Mexico on the International Day during school spirit week at Crescentview. Classes were assigned countries to represent. They were judged according to the authenticity of the presentations.
Windmill and tulips
These students from grade 8A are representing Holland at Crescentview’s International Day Thursday as part of the school spirit week activities. Holland is noted for its windmills, tulips and wooden shoes and the students had them all. And most of the class even made and wore Dutch hats made from newsprint. from the left, Yvonne Bowden, Vivian Turko and Patricia Purves, were representing Switzerland during Thursday’s International Day as a part of school spirit week at Crescentview School.
