Tashiro May5/1959 ART DISPLAY ANTIQUE COLLECTION HIGHLIGHTS HOBBY SHOW. ANTIQUE COLLECTION owned by Sgt. W. B. DesChamps of Shilo, Man., which forms part of the hobby and crafts exhibit now on view at Victoria school. Old swords, sabres, daggers and bayonets are only a part of this interesting display which also includes coins and bills from all parts of the world.
PORTAGE ARTISTS are contributing greatly to the hobby and crafts show at Victoria school this week. Here are some of the oils by being hung for the show. At left is Mrs. Edythe Holden of the Brush and Palette Club, sponsors of the exhibition will be open until Thursday night.
HOBBIES AND CRAFTS are combined in these two displays from the colourful show now at the Victoria school. At top is an arrangement by Mrs. W. Glennie, and below is a sample of wood working exhibited by Eric and Sydney Smith. In the lamp at left are 651 pieces of walnut and maple, and the clock in centre is from a 100-pound tea box.
NEW-TYPE PROJECTOR loaned by the National Film Board through the Local Film Council is shown at the hobby and crafts show at Victoria school. The projector has its own screen on the side of the machine and the mere flip of a mirror can transfer the picture onto a regular screen.
HOME FOR BOYS DISPLAY AT THE ARTS, CRAFTS AND HOBBIES SHOW THIS WEEK AT THE VICTORIA SCHOOL.
PAINTINGS BY MEMBERS OF THE BRUSH AND PALETTE CLUB WERE ALSO ON DISPLAY. IN THE FOREGROUND IS A MODEL TRAIN COMPLETE WITH SCENERY.
